How do I register and what does it cost?
You can register for this event by clicking HERE. Registration cost is $20.
Who is the event organizer?
The 5K is presented by Homes and Hops in collaboration with the following local breweries: Birdfish Brewing Company (Columbiana), Modern Methods (Warren), Biker Brewhouse (Austintown) and Noble Creature (Youngstown).
What is Homes and Hops?
Homes and Hops, located in Mahoning Valley, is a video podcast series that seeks to highlight all the positive change and growth happening in our area in a creative way. Specifically, Homes and Hops puts a spotlight on the growing local brewery scene in the Valley and how they are impacting their surrounding communities.
Who are the sponsors for this event?
Title sponsors are Platt Insurance and Union Home Mortgage. Additional sponsors are Homes and Hops, Mercy Health Foundation - Mahoning Valley, City Machine Technologies, RAT Creative Screen Printing, Second Sole Racing, 21 WFMJ, and Market Title Agency.
What is included in my registration?
Your registration fee includes a finisher medal, participant t-shirt, and a six-week beginner-to-5K training plan. The first 50 registered will also receive a free beer ticket (ages 21 & above) to be redeemed at one of the four breweries.
How will I receive my 5K training plan?
Each participant will receive an email with the 5K training plan in the days following their registration.
How do I receive my medal and t-shirt?
You have the option of picking up your goody bag at one of the four breweries on Saturday, July 11th (time TBD) or you can choose to have your goody bag shipped to you for $10.
Where do I run my 5K?
Anywhere! Be creative - you can complete your 5K in your neighborhood, the park, or even on a treadmill.
How long do I have to submit my time?
You may submit your time between the dates of May 16th and June 28th.
How do I submit my time?
Simply submit your time to email@example.com and he will upload it for you. If you run a faster 5K time at any point thereafter you may resubmit your time to be updated.
Do I need to submit proof of my time?
No. This event is honor-based. We hope that everyone is truthful when submitting times although we will monitor times as they are uploaded.
Are there awards?
We are not offering overall or age group awards. However, every participant will receive a finisher medal.
Are you accepting donations?
Yes we are. You may make a donation during your registration or by clicking the donation tab at the top of the race registration page.
Who are proceeds benefiting?
Proceeds will benefit OH WOW! the Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology. You can read more about this non-profit organization by clicking HERE.
How can I view the results?
Results will begin to upload on May 16th and will update each day. You will be able to view results by clicking HERE beginning on May 25th.
How can I support the local breweries?
Additionally, you have the option to purchase a gift card for any of the breweries. Click HERE to view the event store.
